cK & Alex in Toronto - Part 1 of 2

cK's pals go clubbing, eat west indian food and more!

My roomate, Alex flew to Buffalo from Los Angeles - along with his mother, Alice to visit Rebecca in upstate New York. Since they were so close, they rented an Expedition truck, and drove up from Buffalo to Toronto to hang out with me and get a quick weekend tour.

Alex, Alice, Rebecca and a new face by the name of Hannah all arrived on Saturday night around 7pm in Toronto. I had many things planned for them during the day, but now most of the plans have been limited to evening activities.

The original plan for the evening was to head to C-Lounge on Wellington Street in downtown Toronto for my cousin, Robin's not-so-surprise birthday. So the rest of us headed down there - while Alex's mom stayed home and relaxed.

We had to be at C-Lounge before 11pm to make Robin's guestlist. After getting stuck in traffic downtown, I just parked the car close to Wellington and just thought we could all walk it. Where I parked, which I realized later, was quite far from where I had to be. It didn't really matter that much because it was already past 11pm. We get to C-Lounge... to see a huge mass of people all trying to see if their name is on guestlist. It seemed a little too exclusive for anybody -- even if your name was on the list. The lady holding the clipboard sternly told us that the list that my name was on closed at 11pm. That's it. Nothing more. So we waited a little bit.. just to see if we could still get in. The time is now 12:30am... and I just decided to draw the line. This is Toronto! There is lots of other place to be at.

So we left, and headed towards the club district. While we were on our way, we stumbled across an area that was closed off to traffic for the filming of a movie. They totally took down the Toronto signs and put up New York street signs. NYPD police cars and firetrucks were parked in the streets. The set wasn't being used at the time, everything was just sitting there.

There was this funny spaceship thruster thing that was on the street. We had to get a picture of it. We don't know what it was, but you can try and see in the picture below.

We ended up walking on Richmond - in the Toronto club district and looked for Therapy Lounge like I went to a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the line was crazy long to get in there, but beside it - was MONEY nightclub. There was no line whatsoever. So we go in. We found it quite spacious and open. We danced a little near the bar, then went to outside to the patio. We found some stairs that took us up to the main room --- which was huge and packed!

It was really jamming up there. We danced a lot -- all of us. We met some cool people on the dancefloor too. Thist girl that was up on the platform liked the way I was dancing and pulled me up to dance beside her. So I did. You could kinda see her in the pics. She was really nice. Rebecca and Hannah had a good time grooving, while Alex was moving around having fun as well.

Well, that was Saturday night. On Sunday we headed to my cousins', Tricia and Ron's restaurant. Everyone ate some of the best Chinese-Guyanese food Toronto has to offer. Even GABE, The BIG BLACK MACHINE appeared! We all played pool and watched Batman Begins on the screen.

The weather was fine and the people are constantly smiling. The food is great and the music sounded fantastic. It was a heart warming and fun experince.
